The performance of Ministry of Social Security and Work is highly important for the stability and development of the country. To ensure successful performance and adapt to rapidly changing economical, cultural ant technological environment and growing consumer needs, strategic management system is formed in the Ministry. Evaluation of this system is the purpose of this work. The work is divided into three main chapters. The theoretical and practical analysis of Social Security and Work Ministry strategic management system and its performance principals are presented. In the first chapter conceptual analysis of strategic management in non profit organizations is presented. The number of various concepts is overlooked and compared to fully reveal the process of strategic management, its stages, benefits and importance for the organization. The principles of organizing work of strategic management system of Social Security and Work Ministry is presented in the second chapter. The participants and documents of this process are named and visual schemes are presented. The third chapter contains the most important part of the work – empiric research, which shows execution problems and defects of strategic management system of Ministry. The analysis of seventeen programs of strategic plan of Ministry and interviews with the coordinators are presented. In the end of the work conclusions and recommendations are presented how to improve strategic management system of Social Security and Work Ministry, which are based on summaries of all chapters and authors personal opinion.
