The process of upbringing becomes one of the priorities of Lithuanian education. It is aimed at high quality standards in education focused on independent and responsible individual, modern, civil community, and the goals of bringing up the intelligent society. Mainly these aspects depend on the quality of the upbringing in the institution, which consequently depends on the school management. The actions produced by the head have a great effect on the quality of activities and the process of upbringing itself. Thus, both processes are directly connected with management. The goal of the thesis’ The Management of the Quality of Work in Educational Institution‘ is to find out the way in which management affects the upbringing process at John Paul II Gymnasium in Vilnius. The main objectives of the research is to define the notion of the quality of the process of upbringing, as well as actions and persons , to find out which way of management mostly affects the increase of the quality of the upbringing process, to define the criteria for its research. Besides, using the date of the feedback to define the way quality of the upbringing process in this school is affected by the actions of the headmaster, using the date of the research to evaluate and analyze the problems of increasing the quality of the upbringing process in this particular school. The research was carried out in John Paul II Gymnasium in Vilnius by giving questionnaires to teachers, interviewing the headmaster and deputy directors and the students. The date used for the thesis was theoretical, empiric and statistics. The thesis consists of two parts. The first part presents the references and the overview of the ways of management, which describes managing actions affecting the reinforcement of the quality of the upbringing process, the role of the head of the institution, his working style, the idea and the rules of the quality increase in upbringing. The second part presents the opinion of the head of the school and its teachers on the way the work should be organized, its problems and the quality motivation, the problems and difficulties of Lithuanian schools are being explained. Thorough analysis of management, psychological, pedagogical, sociological resources proved that the main objective of the school management is to create, to maintain and develop the environment which would help the students and the teachers to achieve the effective results in studies, meanwhile to improve the quality of work and management of educational institution. According to the results of the research it is possible to conclude that at John Paul II Gymnasium the management of quality of work is encouraged by the proper management of the head of the institution. The head of school properly understands which aspects of management can increase the quality, tries to apply them in real life, although this process is not always successful as there are some aspects, that need to be improved, not all teachers are aware of the importance and necessity of separate managing actions, their importance and not always perceive them as the motivation of the quality of the upbringing process.
