This master’s research analyzes the issues of cooperation between Marijampolė labour exchange and employers. A situation in labour market when demand exceeds supply prompts to seek for means to improve such situation. Consistent working with employers gives a possibility to assist job-seeking persons and employers to cope with their employment problems. Importantly, activity of these both partners of labour market allows to predict as exactly as possible the processes of labour market as well as causes of these processes and possible consequences and also to prepare and execute different preventive measures. The main objective of cooperation with employers is to improve quality and timeliness of the services provided by a labour exchange considering requirements of employers. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the services provided by a labour exchange and overview the benefit of these services to employers and find out if there is cooperation between Marijampolė labour exchange and local employers. This master’s paper consists of three parts. The first part introduces Marijampolė labour exchange, its structure and territory of service and clients. Next there is an analysis of services provided by the labour exchange to employers and usefulness of these services. The second part first presents a situation in labour market taking into account changes of labour market and influence of migration. Migration had positive as well as negative influence on labour market. The positive influence is that a social dialog started up. Also this part analyzes actions of employers in response to the emerged situation in labour market. There are pointed out some motivation factors influencing employee’s decision to work at company or leave it. Also here is presented an overview of Marijampolė labour exchange’s activity communicating with employers. The research analyzes the features of cooperation between employers and the labour exchange and evaluates the services provided by the labour exchange. The third part of this study presents possibilities to solve present problems. Some organizational and legal measures could help to improve cooperation between the labour exchange and employers. Employers should change conditions of payment for job. The labour exchange should develop its services by improving them. At the end of the paper there are presented conclusions and suggestions drawn out of the analysis of theoretical material and from this research. Research was made by Romualda Giniūtė
