The policy of intellectual property in Lithuanian business units providing internet services. Key words – intellectual property, the policy of intelectual property, industrial property, copyright, conterminous right, the strategy of intellectual property policy. Nowadays intellectual property is undoubtedly one of most relevant values of information age and modern society. The high value and importance of intellectual property is determined by it‘s role as a primary instrument for juridical protection of knowledge and information. It becomes extremely relevant as a huge amount of informational activity is transfered to electronic space and internet is becoming not a privilegy, but rather an environment of daily social-juridical relations. The internet connection is becomming popular, the number of providers of internet services is getting higher, the netwrok is enlarging, number of internet users is prolferating, as a consequence, the policy of intellectual property in Lithuanian business units providing internet services is becomming more relevant. The object of this work is the policy of intellectual property. The purpose of this work is to evaluate the policy of intellectual property in Lithuanian business units providing internet services. The puropse and tasks of this paper have supposed the relevant structure of this work: initially, in the first chapter the reader is primed about the intellectual property and it’s juridical regulation; after that theoretical aspects of the master paper object are analysed in the second chapter; the third chapter is up for analyzing the policy of intellectual property in Lithuanian business units providing internet services. The accomplished suvey of the policy of intellectual property in Lithuanian business units providing internet services, which incorporated managers of superior, medium and lower level, has revealed that functions of intellectual property management and development are not clearly defined and allocated; business units give too little attention for forming, managing and improving intellectual property policy.
