The aim of the Master thesis was to analyse theoretical models of implementation and management of changes in organizations and, to give suggestions on improvement of implementation of further strategic changes in a particular organization. The conclusions are based on surveys evaluating changes in the organization and reflecting an opinion of service beneficiaries. The theoretical part of the thesis analyses a theoretical basis for implementation of changes in organisations and examines the regulatory acts determining activity of territorial patient funds. The practical part analyses factors proving the necessity of changes. An anonymous survey of workers of the Vilnius Territorial Patient Fund (TPF) was made in order to find out how did the workers evaluate changes in the organization, whether it was possible to overcome socio-psychological challenges, what perspectives in the organization were seen by its workers. Another anonymous survey was conducted amongst residents, the clients of the Vilnius TPF, in order to learn their opinion on organization’s performance. After accomplishing the given tasks it was observed that success of changes in the organization largely depended on its workers themselves, on their understanding of change problems and on their readiness to solve these problems. The research showed that most of workers of the Vilnius TPF positively evaluated current changes and most of them agreed that the organization was prepared for change. The best achievement of structural changes in the organization was an establishment of the Resident Service Department, solving a principal problem of the institution. Since the Department was established, residents could get in one place all information concerning different issues of health care services and the compulsory health insurance. The survey of residents demonstrated that the clients of the Vilnius TPF evaluated very well both a performance of the organization and its workers´ competences. The suggestions on further improvement and optimisation of functioning of the Vilnius Territorial Patient Fund were presented in the conclusions of the thesis.
