Gamtos apsaugos priemonių Aukštadvario regioniniame parke efektyvumo vertinimas

The aim of this study was to evaluate nature protectional measures employed in Aukštadvaris Regional Park. The evaluation was based on the analysis of leagal acts concerning nature conservation issued by European Union and the Republic of Lithuania, report of applied scientifuic inverstigations performed by the Department of Landscape Geography and Carthography of the Institute of Geology and Geography, representing management plan of Aukštadvaris Regional Park, and the map of functional and buffer zones of Aukštadvaris Regional Park. Boundaries of Aukštadvaris Regional Park were revised and now its area is 17240 ha (before its area was 16550 ha). Some areas valuable from the botanical, zoological and hydrographic point of wiev were recognised as nature reserves. Several areas were approved as sites for conservations of Important Bird Areas and habitats of European importance. During the last revision of functional zones of Aukštadvaris Regional Park insufficient attention was paid to location of nature values of priority conservation and requirements for their management and applied regulations. Though Natura 2000 area increased from 7,62 % to 10,2 %, this does not ensure efficient conservation of habitats and species included in the Appendix I and Appendix II of the EU Habitat Directuve.
