Design/methodology/approach – data were gathered from the WIPO Patentscope database , using the advanced search queries in order to search for patent applications originating from Lithuania and the search was narrowed to Asia - Europe Office. Then the current status data were gathered from the EPO Espa cenet Advanced Search database , searching for the patents codes, which were identified through the WIPO database. Codes identify the status of patent application. Overall, 111 Lithuanian p atent applications have been identified and collected from 2003 to 2013. Historical analysis, logical analytical, systematic, comparative and descriptive statistical methods were used for the analysis.
