The article focuses on the usage of international words in unusual senses in the language of management. A study of the semantics of such international words as: ‘balansuoti’, ‘balansavimas’, ‘konstruoti’, ‘konstravimas’, ‘startas’, ‘startinis’, -e, ‘star-tuoti’, ‘startavimas’, ‘formatas’, ‘dimensija’, ‘aktualus’, ‘aktuali’, ‘motyvuotas’ -a and of that of the analogous English words, and an assessment of the use of these words in the language of management with respect to standard Lithuanian highlight an influ-ence of the English language on the vocabulary of Lithuanian in management. Se-mantic changes in the vocabulary of Lithuanian in management are shown to be a specifically sensitive point. International words in the language of management de-velop new senses, unusual in Lithuanian, which appear to derive from the meaning of the respective English words. This is an issue of the superficial translation of offi-cial papers and documents: in the process of translation thus limited in quality, the meaning of international words current in English is treated randomly. Consequently, these words bypass translation. Random entries of international words in „The Dic-tionary of Contemporary Lithuanian“ and in „The Dictionary of International Words“ are the only and sole reference in explaining the consequencies. As a result, a ten-dency to search Lithuanian equivalents to international words fades. While using in-ternational words in the new senses, a part of Lithuanian vocabulary is ousted from usage and the standard use of the Lithuanian vocabulary in the language of mana-gement is affected. While giving preference to international words over the common Lithuanian vocabulary, the uniqueness of Lithuanian is made suffer a damaging in-fluence.
