The aim of this paper is to investigate the state-of-the art teaching methods and experience in teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP) learners of different specialities. The major factor in quality of learning is students' ability of self-evaluation of their own mistakes, self-assessment of success and arrangement of individual program of learning strategy, i.e. the way of learning autonomously which helps to plan, improve and implement successful outcomes. Another important factor is students' perceptions of effective and suitable methods for a particular learner. Experience in teaching ESP proves that students' linguistic development depends on their active participation in planning individual learning activities, in analyzing their performance and in foreseeing ways of improving language skills.
