Abstract (en)
The article analyses the opposition and differences between, the concept of common sense and the theoretical (philosophical) knowledge for the reason that at present in philosophical literature the concept of common sense makes a pretension to the unjustifiably high possibilities of knowledge. The article examines the concept of common sense of the Scottish school of philosophy in the 18th c. and as their ideological version - the French university spiritualism in the 19th c., which served only political goals of the state. The author reveals the reasons (scientific, ideological, psychological) of the rebirth of the relics of the philosophy of common sense today in Lithuania.
