The aim of the article is to focus on certain aspects of musicality of Bernardas Brazdžionis' poetry; namely, the objective is to discuss musical images and to analyze their spectrum in his poems. In order to achieve this purpose, the author focuses on works by Vytautas Kubilius, Juozapas Girdzijauskas, Tomas Venclova, Jurga Sadauskienė and the reminiscences of Dagiai, the poet's relatives, publicist Juozas Kojelis, etc. Methods of comparative studies and the statistic method are made use of. In the beginning of the article, some biographical facts revealing the poet's musical inclinations, surroundings, communication with musicians are mentioned. Further on, musical images of Brazdžionis' poetry are discussed in more detail: the images are grouped into folklore images, images of classical and everyday music, and images of ecclesiastical liturgics. In the poems, we often encounter the mentioning of musical genres (ballads, songs, waltzes, fugues, preludes, and sonatas), tempos (allegro, andante, adagio etc.), names of composers (Strauss), instruments (harp, flute, and organs), etc. Finally, a conclusion is made that the poet was acquainted with the world of music and that one of important threads of the lyrics' exceptional musicality is a rather frequent repetition of musical images of various cultural areals.
