The article deals with possibilities to use different kinds of methods and strategies, which promote critical and Creative thinking in math teaching. The author recommends some topics and teaching strategies, which were successfully applied in classrooms. Many people understand math as language, which serves for better understanding of subject content. The students are allowed to make mistakes and to learn from them for better understanding and problem solving in real life. The author suggests to think and to decide what specific aim the lesson has and what results the teacher seeks during the lesson. This important deccision has in common with teaching methods and strategies that teacher uses in the classroom. The article presents teaching methods, recommended by “Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking” project authors. The author of this article looks for opportunities to apply them in certain parts of math lessons.
