Abstract
The paper presents review of selected empirical studies concerning effectiveness of substance abuse prevention campaigns, conducted at schools. The author refers to research conducted in Poland, as well as abroad, which allows to compare the undertaken actions, formulate conclusions and some recommendations, that would be essential to successfully implement improvements in the current substance abuse prevention programs.
