Abstract (en)
Soils provide a wide range of ecosystem services (ES) fundamental for life on earth. Despite this recognition, soil ES are still overlooked. There are direct links between soil functions and ES that are well known, however, little attention has been paid to the indirect links between soil and ES. The objective of this work is to revise the direct and indirect connections between soils and ES, giving examples of their dependence.
