Внешнеполитические и правовые аспекты развития туризма в Литовской Республике

Abstract

The article reveals the evolution of the tourism sector in Lithuania during the last decades, as well as how it was influenced by political processes undergoing in the country and the national legislation being developed. It also presents international and EU legal acts relevant to the sector and their role in the formation of contemporary tourism strategy of Lithuania and the vision for its future development. The article focuses explicitly on the modern forms of tourism by attributing them, rather relatively, to a general concept of niche tourism. The statistical data illustrates, first of all, how the dynamic of number o f tourists from Russia has changed and offers measures on how to enhance its increase.
