Abstract (en)
The article analyses the process and results of regulatory reforms in the European Union affected by general changes in financial markets, 2007-2008 Financial crisis and Eurozone crisis. Changes in regulation are tracked at national, global and supranational levels. Last decade shifts in national supervisory models of the EU member states are summarized. It is argued that at the global level European Union ability to handle systemic risks is affected by global “too big to fail” financial institutions. At supranational level the focus is given to the results of Lamfaloussy process and new challenges arising in the process of Banking Union creation.
