Abstract
The article deals with the problem of global space positioning for states that have found themselves in the center of the actual geopolitical confrontation between European and Eurasian ideas. As an example, factors and elements that form the order of the day for Ukrainian and Turkish foreign policy are analyzed. It is emphasized that, despite a number of similar characteristics, these states differ substantially in their potential and conditions of existence. Each of them has its own objectively high-priority foreign policy course (Eurointegration for Kiev, multi-vector for Ankara). So, success in its implementation by one of them cannot be an example for another.
