Tourism is one of the most dynamic and largest sectors of economics in the world. E which is unique in its tourism objects and products differentiation, plays an import in world tourism market. 10 MEE state-candidates, Lithuania among them, will enter the EU tourism market 1rst of May. The tourism of Lithuania was started to develop after restoration of independence year about 3 mln. tourists visit the country. Lithuania is the 8th country among members of the EU and the 3rd among the state-candidates of EU in number of tourists Citizen index. The international tourism income is rapidly increasing. But it is lower than EU average. Tourist expenditure in Lithuania is much lower than expenditure in other countries. One of the main reasons of this situation is poorly developed entertainment infrastructure. The accommodation services network is not sufficient. Majority of the institutions that provide accommodation render their services at low level and relatively hig prices. Railway and marine transport (sea and river) are dissatisfying; problems with food quality and service level in the nutrition institutions.
