The Article analyses the attitude of parents toward the need of social pedagogical assistance in preparing their children from a pre-school institution to a pre-primary group. The research is directed toward parents’ opinion on readiness of pre-school children to attend a pre-primary group. According to the findings, parents overestimate the necessity of academic and subject knowledge and underestimate social competences of pre-primary children and their importance in the education process.
