The cyber domain is one of the newest and most rapidly evolving fields of knowledge which has led to the development of a new area of law - cyber law, that regulates the use of the Internet and activities performed over the Internet and other networks. The cyber domain is particularly dynamic: new concepts are constantly developed and need new terminological designations, which in turn need new counterparts in other languages. Formation of these designations and their counterparts often raises terminological issues that are important to deal with in order to develop a coherent system of the cyber domain terms. The given paper focuses on the terminology that includes the lexical item cyber which may be considered as the main signifier of the cyber domain indicating its specific nature. The aim of the paper is threefold: to analyse the origin and development of the lexical item cyber, to investigate conceptual categories of the EU legislation terminology that includes the lexical item cyber and to establish the Lithuanian counterparts that are used for translation of the lexical item cyber in the Lithuanian equivalents of the English terms. For the purposes of the study, the ad hoc English and Lithuanian corpora of the EU legislative documents were compiled. Corpus-driven methodology was used to extract and investigate the terminology used in the corpora. The results of the research are believed to provide useful information to learners and teachers of the legal language and legal translation, as well as drafters of legislative and administrative documents and other professionals engaged in cybersecurity matters.

It is often thought that environmental campaigns aimed at changing human behavior to be more environmentally friendly should target individuals’ intrinsic values and other personal variables. An evolutionary approach to human behavior, however, proposes a different perspective for tackling the pressing environmental issues of our times by making use of (rather than trying to change) our innate behavioral tendencies to make pro-environmental behavior the default and most adaptive option. The presented evolutionary approach proposes that changing behavioral outcomes might be more prudent than trying to change people. Better environmental and social outcomes are possible if we were to make use of our evolutionary past rather than fight it.

While member states have made a great effort into mapping ecosystem services (ES) in Europe, much work is still needed, especially in the marine domain. Difficulties in understanding the ecological functioning of marine ecosystem services (MES), together with the lack of administrative and technical resources, calls for the development of new assessment approaches. Even for the well-studied MES, the provision of wild seafood, few studies focus on mapping and mostly in a qualitative way by applying expert-based methods. This study aims to quantitatively map MES by developing new methodological frameworks for each of the components of the cascade model for wild seafood provision. The results showed a high potential of wild seafood provision in coastal areas, contrasting with offshore areas of the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). Wild seafood is mainly supplied in the central part of the EEZ and is influenced by biological (e.g. sediments) and anthropogenic (e.g. shipping) factors. The flow was mapped using the location of first buying companies, restaurants, hotels, and supermarkets showing that the highest values were located in the urban areas. The coastal zone has a high flow as a consequence of the high density of fish selling points. The demand was mapped using the population density, number of tourists, and the fish consumption per capita; showing a high demand for fish products in urban as coastal areas. A validation step for the developed potential and supply, the analysis of the limitations and methodological considerations for all components, highlights the future data needs; showing decision-makers where to direct efforts. Mapping all components of wild seafood provision is critical to understand dynamics, the trade-offs associated, and its role in the socio-economic dimensions of coastal communities. This information can then be integrated into decision-making by showing the advantages in achieving a sustainable provision of wild seafood.

Although Critical Thinking (CT) has been a desirable aim expressed both by higher education institutions and labour market professionals, studies on what CT means and what it looks like in the workplace are scarce. The current study intends to tackle this gap by sharing findings about the importance of CT and its practical manifestation in professions from the points of view of 189 European employers. Data shows that CT is recognized mostly as: (1) the capacity to avoid mistakes and make right decisions; (2) the capacity to correct and regulate oneself; and (3) as a social responsibility. Our findings prove that CT is valued not only insofar as it contributes to professional success, but also for personal improvement and common good. Unfortunately, participants tend to share general and ambiguous ideas about the importance of CT rather than presenting concrete, practice-based professional life examples illustrating its understanding and application within their organizations.

Journal of management and training for industries. Kitakyushu : Institute of Industrial Applications Engineers, 2019, vol. 6, no. 2., p. 1-16

This paper reviews and analyses the role of power and culture management theories on the implementation of human-centric innovation ecosystems in organizations and corporations from an institutional aspect. The practical aspects and characteristics of management theories paradigms are discussed, for highlighting the development of specific-based strategies that an organization adapts in order to harness the right kind of talent or human capital to foster and support innovation ecosystems. The relevant literature findings are organized in three sections, namely the evolution of management theories paradigms leading to the development of innovation management theory, the role of organizational power and culture in the fostering an innovation-based system and environment internally, and to a greater extent, the impact of this power and culture on the development of human-centric innovation ecosystems. The findings reveal that rather than focusing on the technological and financial aspects of innovation ecosystems, power and culture within the organizational context essentially contributes to the extent to which innovation is properly supported and implemented, the changing dynamics involved and actors in those ecosystems. It is, therefore, important to choose the culture of the entrepreneurial model methodology, best practices and techniques and approaches in order to influence ecosystems found in organizations within the domain of management theory.

The article is based on research conducted at the actual radiology department. Itpresents a range of descriptions and analyses of concrete operations performed byradiologists during their daily professional routine. After careful ethnographic obser-vations, phenomenological analysis is employed with a view to examining the enactivecognition in the radiologist’s Blife-world^. The paper uses both ethnography andphenomenology in order to reveal the essential regularities and sedimentations ofeveryday radiological processes, and the Beveryday background^ of certain scientific-cognitive operations. The method of research includes Benactive proofs^— observa-tions and analysis of the externalization of a radiologist’s professional memory throughthe enaction of medical imaging and imageconsciousness. The findings of this researchhave much to offer to both philosophy and radiological praxis. While the observationsstrongly support the development of enactive phenomenology, critique of representa-tionalism, primacy of inference in cognition, and shared intentions, they also provideinsight into concrete operations in coping with radiology’s paraphernalia, habituality, the origin of mistakes, multilay ered communication, and improving professionalpraxis.

Morality, competence, and sociability have been conceptualized as fundamental dimensions on which individuals ground their evaluation of themselves and of other people and groups. In this study, we examined the interplay between selfperceived morality, competence, and sociability and relationship quality within the core social contexts with which adolescents have extensive daily interactions (family, friends, and school). Participants were 916 (51.4% girls; Mage = 15.64 years) adolescents involved in a three-wave longitudinal study with annual assessments. The results of cross-lagged analyses indicated that (a) self-perceived morality was more important than self-perceived competence and sociability in strengthening family, friend, and school relationships; and (b) high-quality friendships led to increasing levels of selfperceived morality over time. Overall, this evidence advances our theoretical understanding of the primacy of morality from a self-perspective approach and highlights the developmental importance of friends.

Despite many efforts to empower the EU citizens and their family members to benefit from the free movement of workers, numerous well-documented obstacles are still present within the EU. The EU intends to eliminate the gap between the rights on paper and in practice in Directive 2014/54 by establishing four procedural pillars—promotion, support, analysis and monitoring. The functions are entrusted to the institution(s) designated by the Member States leaving them a wide discretion to choose the most appropriate institutional model. This article focuses on the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of three possible institutional setups—establishment of a new institution, extension of the mandate of an existing body and assignment of the tasks to several existing national bodies. The study examines which model is more suitable to meet the aims of the Directive, taking into consideration the nature and content of the above-mentioned pillars and specific situation in the different Member States.

Applied cognitive psychology. [Hoboken] : John Wiley and Sons Ltd, 2018, vol. 32, iss. 5., p. 561-574

We experimentally investigated how different mnemonic techniques employed in an interview conducted immediately after an event affected truth tellers' and liars' responses when they were interviewed again after a 2-week delay. We also compared how verbal accounts changed over time within truth tellers and liars, and how consistent both groups were. Participants (n = 143) were shown a mock intelligence operation video and instructed either to tell the truth or lie about its contents in two interviews, one of which was immediately after watching the video and the other after a 2-week delay. In the immediate interview, they were asked to provide a free recall and then asked to provide further information via one of three mnemonics: context reinstatement, sketch, or event-line. In the delayed interview, they were asked to provide only a free recall. Truth tellers reported more visual, spatial, temporal, and action details than did liars both immediately and after a delay. Truth tellers experienced more of a decline in reporting details after a delay than did liars, and this decline was affected by the mnemonic used. Truth tellers thus showed, more than liars, patterns of reporting indicative of genuine memory decay. Liars produced patterns of a “stability bias” instead. Truth tellers and liars were equally consistent between their immediate and delayed statements.

This article serves a twofold purpose. It firstly examines the concept of EU administrative law, which has, so far, remained vague despite being widely researched over the last decade. The present research attempts to fill in this gap by elaborating on a conception of EU administrative law adapting the general structure of national administrative law. The article then explores administrative activity as the main criterion for the identification of national public administrators as well as EU public administrators. Therefore, the study looks at the attempts to create a unified EU administrative law code, refers to European Parliament resolutions of 2013 and 2016 and the ReNEUAL Model Rules on EU Administrative Procedure. The article finishes with identifying EU-level public administrators, focusing on issues related to EU agencies. This study defines EU-level public administrators, rules, judge-made law that constitute EU administrative law and encourages EU legislator to finally adopt a unified administrative procedure act.
