Magistro darbe „Savivaldybės mero institutas po tiesioginių mero rinkimų įvedimo“ apžvelgiami ir analizuojami tiesioginiai merų rinkimai ir mero institutas, bei su jais susiję pokyčiai. Darbe apimamas laikotarpis nuo pat tiesiogiai renkamų merų rinkimų įdėjos atsiradimo iki pat jos įgyvendinimo, kuomet priėmus būtinus ir šią sritį reglamentuojančius įstatymus 2015 m. buvo suorganizuoti pirmieji tiesioginiai merų rinkimai. Nurodoma kaip keitėsi mero institutas ir jo įgaliojimai per visą laikotarpį. Apžvelgiamos pirmosios patirtis po tiesioginių merų rinkimų, bei įvertinus gautą informaciją, teikiami siūlymai dėl mero instituto tobulinimo.

The first direct elections to the mayors were organized. Specifies how the mayor's institution changed and its mandate changed throughout the period. An overview of the first experience after the election of direct mayors, and after evaluation of the information received, offers suggestions for improvement of the mayor's institution.
