The aim of this paper - to analyze the demographical situation of Lithuanian countryside, to outline the changable factors and to describe the tendencies of the changes. To achieve the aim there have been raisen the goals: to discuss demographical processes and indicators of their changes; to estimate demographical situation of nowadays in the Lithuanian countryside; to analyse the development of demographical processes in the country; to establish the reasons of demographical changes; to describe the changes of the population in the future. According to the aim and goals, the main conclucions were drawn: 1. The analysis of the statistical data has showed that the number of the population has been discreased in the Lithuanian countryside. The discrease of populations was influenced by the main demographical processes such as birth, mortality and migration. The main demographical changes, according to the statistical data, were those: · The discrease of the birth that the natural reproduction of the population is not ensured; · The number of marriages is discreasing, but increasing the number of divorced couples or living without marriage; · The level of mortality is increasing; · The gap between men's and women's probable average of life is increasing; · In the Soviet Union period there was an enormous migration of the population from the county to the city, later the number of migrants and their directions have changed; · Also there has been noticed an evident demographical senility; 2. The analyses about the tendencies of populiation in the future made by the United Nations and The Statistical Department of the Lithuanian Goverment has shown that the population in the Lithuanian countryside is going to descrease if the living conditions there do not change. At the end of the paper there are given a few suggestions.
