Šiuo darbu siekiama identifikuoti pagrindines problemas, kylančias ginant viešąjį interesą aplinkosaugos srityje. Darbe atskleidžiama viešojo intereso samprata ir jos sąsaja su aplinkosauga. Išanalizuojamos pagrindinių subjektų, turinčių teisę kreiptis į teismus, galimybės ginti viešąjį interesą. Apžvelgiami pagrindiniai reikalavimai visuomeninėms organizacijoms, kreipiantis į teismus užsienio šalyse. Darbo pabaigoje formuluojamos išvados, kurios numato problematiką, ginant viešąjį interesą aplinkosaugos srityje.

The aim of this work is to identify the main problems arising while defending the public interest in the field of environmental protection. The paper reveals the concept of public interest and its connection with environmental protection. The power of the main entities entitled to apply to the courts to defend the public interest is analysed. The main requirements for community organizations to apply to courts in foreign countries are reviewed. At the end of the paper, conclusions are drawn, which outline the issues of defending the public interest in the field of environmental protection.
