SUMMARY The non-ethic situations and examples more and more often occur in our society, when various problems are settled regardless of any canons of the culture of behavior and etiquette. Application of violence by adults and insulting of personalities are attributed to the behavior, which is being formed in childhood and within the school age. This age is most suitable for mastering of the culture of behavior and for formation of the habits of cultural behavior. Usually school-teachers and social workers have to communicate with the children of such age most of all; thus, it’s very important that these people single out by their high culture of behavior and show the appropriate example for the future generations. A social worker is a specialist, whose purpose of work is to strengthen a person’s abilities to accommodate to the environment, to restore the relations with the community by assisting him/her in becoming integrated into the society and stimulating a more full-blooded social functioning of a person. The social worker’s assistance is most often necessary for a person, when: - the internal structure of the virtues, created by a person, cannot satisfy his/her demands in reality; - a person perceives his/her internal contradictions vaguely; - a person’s behavior becomes uncontrolled (according to the person himself/herself) and inconsistent (usually during the crisis, i.e. an acute disease, loss, when a feeling of helplessness is experienced, etc.). The culture of behavior is the whole of the forms of behavior, which are grounded by morality and esthetic taste as well as are related with the habits and traditions. The etiquette is the whole of the rules of behavior and symbols. A person should perceive the etiquette not as a precise behavior instruction, not as a set of dogmatic rules, but as an orienting landmark, as the starting point of a qualitative and morally valuable manifestation of his/her behavior. While considering the culture of behavior, we have been analyzing a person’s esthetic values and principles, whereas, while analyzing the official etiquette, we have reviewed the etiquette peculiarities while communicating in the working environment. After having carried out the interrogation of social workers and their clients with the help of the questionnaire, we can draw the conclusion that the culture of behavior and the official etiquette of social workers are of a high level; thus, it can be stated that they do their job qualitatively. However, half of the interrogated persons stated that they are short of knowledge about the culture of behavior and etiquette.
