Demographical changes of structure of residents determines that the system of social facilities for old and aged people escalates considering to the demand of care. At the time about 4780 people live in varied jurisdiction stationary nursing institutions. Stationary nursing remains as an effective support for old people, because it provides safe background and facilities by needs. Stationary nursing institution is considered for temporary and permanent habitation. The purpose of this work is to find out what are the needs for social facilities residents of Zarasai nursing home. In the analysis of literature we theoretically summarized the singularity of social facilities for old people. Document analysis indicates the legislative basis of social facilities. We accomplished clauses like analysis of demographical aging of Lithuanian population, introduction to old people needs, and also we found what influence the change of living place makes to an old person. We also defined the role of a social worker in stationary nursing institution. At the end of this work we give the conclusions which summarize variation of answers of our respondents. Conclusions also show what hypotheses were proved out and delivers the ways of improving of social facilities. The material given should be interesting for social workers that work in nursing homes.
