The main problem approached in this thesis is that unqualified and low quality investigations of a crime scene and body, as well as prolonged criminal and forensic medicine examinations are slowing the homicide investigation. The main objective of this task is to analyse the technique of homicide investigation. There are two prime tasks in this thesis: First is to discuss the key criminalistic features of homicide criminal characteristics. Second, to analyse the criminalistic aspects of homicide scene investigation. Having analysed criminalistic literature, considering the question of interest, it is obvious that effective and well executed inspection and investigation of a crime scene and the body is very important for a successful examination. There are two primary jobs being carried out, during the investigation: collection and documentation of evidence and receiving of leading information for crime clarification. It is obvious that revelation of principal elements of homicide criminalistic characteristics and criminalistic aspects of homicide scene investigation, timely and scrupulous initial execution of homicide investigation, these all are the key acts to the effective homicide solution, investigation and prevention tasks. Considering the received information, one can properly find and establish the trace, analyse it, decode the data. If the evidence of the homicide were established and the pretrial investigation was started in the very beginning, one can perform operative and purposeful task, because information about the crime and the criminal is received immediately. For cases to be solved and homicides to be clarified more effectively, it is indispensable to carry out qualified inspections of crime scene and the body and this needs professionally prepared investigators and specialists. Empirical findings show that it is advisable to update the qualification of investigators constantly, elucidate the questions of criminal investigation and special knowledge application in practice, endeavour that the conditions for specialist potential are made, working on investigation, getting the materials ready for examination (expertise). Also it is suggested to improve the communication and information, that is needed to solve the crime, exchange between the law enforcement institutions.
