Abstract

The aim of the research: determine accessibility of primary health care in Utena district municipality. The object of the research: opinion of inhabitants of Utena district municipality about health care and its accessibility. The subject of the research: factors influenced the opinion of inhabitants of Utena district municipality about health care. Hypothesis: accessibility of health care dependence on: right planning of service offering in health care institution; distance to health care institution; The results: There were questioned 49 inhabitants of Utena district municipality with a help of anonymous application form. The data was processed by SPSS program (version 11.0). The parameter p (significance level) was used to verify the hypothesis: when p is less than 0.05 (statistically significant). 12,2  of respondents visit a doctor in primary health care institution more than once per month, the third – once per half-year. 16,3  of respondents visit a doctor less than once per year other respondents visit a doctor once per month. 73,5  of respondents maintain that nearest health care institution is 5 kilometers from own home, 44,9  - the nearest hospital is 5 kilometers too. Quarter of respondents maintain that nearest hospital is 11-15 kilometers of distance, 4,1  - to nearest hospital is more than 16 kilometers of distance. 38,8  of respondents maintain that to nearest health care institution go about 16-30 minutes, the third of respondents detain approximately 15 minutes. More than half of respondents maintain that emergency await approximately 16-30 minutes after calling. 44,9  of respondents indicate that are partly content with attention of doctor and the quarter of respondents – absolutely content. More than half of respondents indicate that at the door of surgery await approximately 16-30 minutes. More than half of respondents (53,1 ) indicate that content and absolutely content with medical service offering. 71,4  of respondents are content and absolutely content that doctors explain to them medical procedures and results of tests. Respondents which have less monthly income (0-500 Lt) visit doctors mostly once per month (57,1 ). Respondents possessed more than 1501 Lt monthly income visit doctor once per half-year (37,5 ) or infrequently than once per year (37,5 ). The third are discontent of themselves health. More than half are content and partly content of themselves health. Proposals: To get acquainted the inhabitants of Utena district municipality and primary health care employees with the results of this research.
