In the nowadays society one of the criterion of evaluation is the sense of security. Administrative ways of the assurance of the safe traffic are analysed through state and public institutions’ links disclosing juridical, economical, historical, cultural, social elements and ways, influencing the assurance of the safe traffic. XX age is undoubtedly the age of automobiles. According to data of different researches in the accidents thousands of traffic participants are injured and killed. It is calculated that the most probability to be killed for every person of our planet is in the accident. This probability is equal 1 percent. In the state institutions are not able to stop uncanny disasters and to protect citizens. Now I t is tried to guarantee safe traffic with a help of traditional decisions - printing preventive pampers, organizing daily police raids, however, on the roads more and more traffic participants are injured. The data of various European countries about accidents show that the safety of traffic is the main problem requiring effective decisions. In Lithuania in is especially difficult to adjust the work of institutions that are directly responsible for the implementation of the law acts of Europe. It is especially seen from the big amount of casualties on the roads and from the plenty of safe traffic programmes which are not effective. It is faced with financial problems, with the problem of human resources and of different person’s thinking. The problem of safe traffic is possible to solve only when it is solved in all state’ levels: Parliament, Government, municipality and all traffic participants influencing society by all possible juridical and tutorial ways. Now in Lithuania it is created incomplete training system of safe traffic, institutions complete their work with poor quality, there are not specialists of safe traffic. The increase of the amount of cars raises more and more social problems – it is noticed high environmental pollution, noise, jams in the streets of the town. So, there are some alternatives to car’s communications - bio transport and public transport. However, to reach real progress in the field of safe traffic there are necessary such things as long-term planning, long-term investments, rational traffic programmes, settled law data base. Nowadays the society does not contribute to the solution of the problems of safe traffic, because the training system of public safe traffic is not perfect and because the culture and punishment of traffic participants are very low.
