The main objective of this work – investigate main competences, which are crucial for successful business development, today’s problems and perspectives regarding further development of these competences in Lithuania. Main tasks: • Definition of main competences that are required to achieve success in modern business development. • Monitoring and analysis of present Lithuania’s institutions’ system, which are responsible for business stimulation and development of competences. • Evaluation of system’s effectiveness and perspectives for its further improvement. Hypotheses: • Most of business management principles used today are based on old paradigms that are incompatible with modern business. • Constant competences development is necessary condition to achieve success in business. • Present institutions’ system that is forming competence development and business stimulation isn’t effective. After analysis of situation in today’s business, most popular business management methods, present institutions that are creating competence development, business and innovations’ stimulation system conclusions were made. Most of the conclusions have confirmed the hypotheses.
