SUMMARY The topic of euthanasia in the whole world becomes more and more dramatic due to strained theoretical and ideological discussions as well as due to drastic applying it in practice. Suicide with help is related to the idea of rational suicide. The way for euthanasia is paved by: 1. mentality, which tends not to acknowledge the life as a value in itself despite the ways of its existence in the world; 2. The conception of life quality stating that the quality of life depends on the psychophysical effectiveness and satisfaction. This conception does not acknowledge any sense in sufferings or disability and therefore avoids it at any cost. The right to die can be changed to a duty to die the consequence of which is a duty to help a person pass away. The help to depart this world in different countries is treated not the same way. The creation of a mechanism in the international law such as conventions and other instruments of law in addition to coordination of national law with the conventions mentioned here testifies that morality and humanity takes more and more space in the theory and practice of law. The knowledge about crimes and their reasons are necessary first of all for meeting the requirements of law. The problem of euthanasia lies not only in the question of whether to make it legal or not. The increasing interest in euthanasia is our disability to take care of incurably ill people.
