Literature analysis revealed the lack of inquiries and theoretical works on the possibilities of essential and labor skills’ development of adults with intellectual disorder. There is a high demand of this kind of information in the practice. Therefore, the purpose of Master Thesis was chosen to explore the possibilities of disabled people to develop essential and labor skills. In Master Thesis, I test the hypothesis that the crucial impact in the development process of disabled essential and labor skills is taken by the contribution of professionals. In Master Thesis, I choose questionnaire survey method. Questionnaire was prepared for professionals who work with adults with intellectual disorder. It will help to evaluate two things. First, it will help to evaluate possibilities of development of essential and labor skills of disabled adults with intellectual disorder. Second, it will help to determine obstacles of disabled adults with intellectual disorder to integrate into society. Respondents of the survey are employees of public institution “Markučių dienos veiklos centras“, day center „Šviesa“, and public institution „Training center „Mes esame“. They are responsible for education of adults with intellectual disorder. The results of the inquiry showed, that: - 91,14 % of MDVC, 88,96 % of “Šviesa” and 95,20 % of “Me sesame” respondents think that the main reason of disabilities are inborn (3. picture); - The most difficult activities for adults with intellectual disorder are self management (it is estimated only by 3,82 points), labor activities (it is estimated 4,63 points). There were a little bit better results on communication skills (it is estimated by 5,24 points). Inquiry results show that there is a necessity to develop self management, essential and labor skills of adults with intellectual disorder for their better integration into the society (2 table); - 67,13 % of respondents think that day centers are the best places to develop labor skills of youngsters with strong and medium intellectual disorder (6 picture); - 78,09 % of respondents think that the correspondence of labor preparation programs with the needs of youngsters with intellectual disorder is the most important thing for the development of labor skills. Also, 50,69 % of respondents think that it is very important to assure the consistency of development of labor skills which evolve from school till the professional preparation. It also involves cooperation with parents.
