Improvement of professional skill of the teacher is his right and a duty. In Lithuania there are accepted many legal acts, regulating conditions of improvement of professional skill. However the output is spoken about a training for a new profession while from the developed situation timidly, though already clearly, what is it: demographic parameters are not, young experts leave abroad, the quantity of good teachers decreases. The analysis of legal documents and the literature has shown, that improvement of professional skill of teachers and a training for a new profession today is one of priority areas of an education system.In the EU countries improvement of professional skill of teachers, as well as in Lithuania, is priority area. Results of quantitative research have shown, that in research participated teachers are not so happy with the organization of employment of a training for a new profession. Paying attention to all the stated lacks, only 41,27 % in research of participated teachers have agreed, that the existing system of a training for a new profession of teachers meets today's requirements. In turn from results of interview it is clear, that the administration of establishments of a training for a new profession is confident, that teachers are satisfied with studies and their organization though, sometimes they face some problems. So, results of the analysis of a literary part and research have shown, that put forward hypothesis has proved to be true. The question of a training for a new profession of teachers is insufficiently investigated and demands improvement.
