The problem of the international private law codification and unification is very important and actual nowadays. In different countries exists different legal regulation, which makes negative influence for the international cooperation. These negative aspects can be eliminated by the unification and codification of international private law. The point of this work is to present the notion of the codification and unification of international private law; to discuss the process of the unification and codification and to analyze the practice of different countries and international organizations in this range. The work consists of preface, three chapters, which are divided into smaller sections, conclusions, list of literature and supplements. The first chapter is designed to discuss the notion of the codification and unification of international private law. In the second chapter are researched the means and process of the codification and unification of international private law. Also are analyzed main methods used in the process of private international law unification; presented stages of this process. Third chapter is designed for the practical side of the work. In it is analyzed the role of the main international organizations in the process of the codification and unification of international private law, such as: Hague conference on international private law, International Institute for the unification of international private law, International Institute for the Unification of Private Law, United Nations Commission on International Trade Law, European Union, The Organization of American States, Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa.
