Field of Science
Abstract
Currently aggressive behaviour of parents with their children has become a particularly urgent issue, the solution of which lies in different fields including pedagogics. The purpose of the article is to study the possibilities of teachers at comprehensive schools to determine aggressive behaviour of parents and to find out the most effective information sources in order to get such information. By questionnaires of a semi-closed type 357 teachers of comprehensive schools of Kaunas city with 10 and more years of pedagogical experience as well as 312 schoolchildren of senior high school were surveyed. Diagnostic possibilities for the problem of aggression suffered by children within the family are 'demonstrated by the possibility of teachers to detect children, who suffered such behaviour from their parents. Comparing the answers, given by the students and teachers from secondary schools, it becomes clear, that teachers find out only a small part of children's experience of aggression. The interaction between a child and a teacher helped to determine the children's experience of aggression; the most informative sources are evidence presented by the child, other children, and changes of the child's behaviour.
