Abstract
The administrative language has quite a few problems to be solved. One of them is usage and codification of loanwords. This book considers lexical loanwords: foreign words (barbarisms), hybrids, and international words that are used in the administrative language. The book deals with the loan words that comprise a heterogeneous lexical layer. Some of them are foreign words that have Lithuanian equivalents, others penetrated in to the Lithuanian language as international words. Not a few new loanwords considered are English words most frequently. A part of them are terms of one or other fields for which Lithuanian substitutes should be found or created. Another part ousts our own Lithuanian words form the Lithuanian language. Hence, they have Lithuanian equivalents. This book keeps to the conventional comprehension of foreign words and hybrids established in the publications of language culture. A word originated from another language, contradicting the rules of the standard Lithuanian language, and having a regular Lithuanian equivalent is regarded as an unacceptable foreign word. The words that have formation components (root, pre fix, suffix or stem) borrowed from other languages are regarded as hybrids. Derivatives from international words are usually not considered as hybrids. [...].
