Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of the nowadays crisis of philosophy and to philosophical foundations of sociological theory. Of late years, the great, incoherent mass of sociological and philosophical literature is proclaiming the end of philosophy. The philosophical level sometimes is replaced by the sociological level. The need of new goals and new methods in the understanding and interpretation of modern society is evident. The author makes an attempt to answer the question of the drama of philosophy, seeks to reformulate and defend the central thesis - inseparability of social philosophy and sociological theory, to provide philosophical foundations for a critical theory of society, for a sociological theory designed with a practical intention.
