The multiple store chains dominate in the retail trade market of most countries. The relevant decision making of iocal managers can provide efficient activity of store chain in order to get a supply of goods and services, and to gain an advantage against competitors. Theoretical aspects of centralization and decentralization decision making in company are analyzed in the article. The results of empirical research of decision making in convenience store chain are presented too. The research has shown that corporate management of convenience store chain is responsible for strategic decision areas, while store managers are liable for store operational decision areas.
