Abstract
The paper deals with the issue of engaging different parties into dispute resolution i the situation of severe competition or even open confrontation. Firsthand Dispute Resolution (FDR) procedures such as consultation, negotiation, and mediation mean that a sočiai actor meets a conflict by promoting exchange of information, dialogue and constructive relationship with the other party. On the societal level the FDR iš meaningful aš a factor for individuals' and groups' high sociality. By raising problems, adjusting controversial interests and objectives, interacting sočiai subjects create new standards of cooperation in society.
