Тенденции правогого регулирования деятельности государственной погранохраны Латвийской Республики

It was necessary to implement the requirements of Schengen agreement since Latvia is a Member of the European Union. The requirements focused on invulnerability of the borders, prevention of violations related to illegal immigration as well as the protection of the external border of the European Union according to the requirements of the European Union and Schengen Agreement. It is necessary to arrange the normative regulations in the activity of the State Border Guard regarding the sphere of the state security, state border and border area regime control, control of foreigner’s residence regulations, the control of persons and vehicles as well as other spheres. In order to improve the efficiency of the State Border Guard according to the requirements of the Schengen Convention the structural reorganization of the normative enactments of activities, infrastructure, and training of personnel was carried out. The report shows the problems and tendencies of normative enactments which is related to the security of the external borders of the European Union.
