Latter-day criminogenic situation in Lithuania, where the crimes are becoming more insolent, and the rights violators and criminals are increasingly prone to violence and aggression, testifies to the need to responsibly develop the professional competence of police officers, to improve continually officials‘ professional - the specific physical, tactical and combat readiness, to shape the technically correct and effective skills. Only strong and stable overall professional competence and skills can help the police officer to protect himself or another person or property entrusted to him, therefore the training of Lithuanian police officers‘ must be continual and endless process. Many of wrestling technique actions dominate in combat self-defense program. These actions can be used as a defense against attacks by hand or foot kicks, defenses against knife, stick or other sharp object. As well as the disarmament of the offender, who threatened with a firearm. This article analyses wrestling influence for learning process of statute officers. We analyzed the possibility to use practically techniques of combat sports in the service of statute officers. The objective of the study - to evaluate a variety of professional - applied training (PTR) aspects, characteristics and problems while developing officers of various force structures for future practical activities. The study involved 120 statutory officers with at least five years of service in the police, or State border guard service officers who also participated in the apprehension of criminals and offenders. To fulfil the goal of the study a questionnaire was developed which aimed in finding out the opinions of the respondents, with what sports should be the students occupied on their extra free time, shaping the professional skills and increasing their professional skill arsenal.
