Vaikų nepriežiūros problema tebėra viena iš neatidėliotinų egzistuojančių problemų Slovakijoje. Apytiksliai 500–600 vaikų kasmet tampa prievartos aukomis. Socialiniai darbuotojai pirmiausia rūpinasi užkirsti kelią vaikų prie- vartai ir nepriežiūrai, stengiasi nustatyti ir spręsti tokias problemas, yra svarbiausi teikiant paramą ir apsaugą pažeidžiamiems vaikams ir šeimoms. Šiuo tyrimu nustatyta socialinių darbuotojų patirtis sprendžiant vaikų nepriežiūros atvejus ir su tuo susijusias problemas. Darbe pritaikytas kokybinis tyrimas ir tikslinė atrankos technika. Šio tyrimo dalyviai buvo du socialiniai darbuotojai, kurie yra paskirti bendruomenės centre vienoje iš vietos nevyriausybinių organizacijų Slovakijoje. Tokius atvejus sprendžiantys socialiniai darbuotojai, siekdami atlikti atitinkamus vaidmenis, padėti vaikui ir jo šeimai, susiduria su įvairiais iššūkiais. Papildomos šio tyrimo išvados atskleidė, kad yra pasekmių, kai vaikas yra neprižiūrimas ir tai nutinka dėl rimtų problemų šeimoje. Galiausiai, socialiniai darbuotojai vadovaujasi tam tikra proceso eiga tvarkydami bet kokius vaiko teisių gynimo atvejus ir valdydami atvejus net sukūrė gerąją praktiką. Taigi socialiniai darbuotojai atlieka labai svarbų vaidmenį vaiko apsaugos sistemoje, nes jie dirba daugelyje vaiko ir net šeimos gyvenimo sričių, todėl turėtų būti tinkamai pripažinti siekiant tobu- linti jų profesinę praktiką.
The problem of child neglect remains one of the most pressing in Slovakia, with an estimated 500 to 600 children suffering abuse each year. Social workers are at the forefront of preventing, identifying, and addressing child abuse and neglect, playing a pivotal role in providing support, protection, and advocacy for vulnerable children and families. This study establishes the experiences of social workers in managing child neglect cases and the problems associated with it. This paper uses qualitative research with a purposive sampling technique. Two social workers participated in this study, both of whom are assigned to a Community Center in a local non-governmental organization in Slovakia. Social workers managing cases of this nature are faced with various forms of challenges while striving to perform their relevant roles in order to help children and their families. The additional findings of this study reveal that there are consequences when children are neglected due to serious problems within the family. Finally, social workers follow a certain process flow in managing any child protection case, and have established good practices in the course of the case management process. Social workers play a critical role in the child protection system because their work touches many aspects of the lives of children and even their families. Therefore, they should be afforded proper recognition in order to uplift their professional practice.
