Pastaruoju metu Į Lietuvą legaliai atvykstančių užsieniečių (imigrantų) srautas pastoviai didėja. Daugiausia žmonių imigruoja iš Rusijos Federacijos, Ukrainos, Baltarusijos, Vokietijos. Dauguma imigrantų atvyksta norėdami mūsų šalyje sukurti šeimą dirbti ar mokytis, tačiau santykio su teisėtvarka analizė rodo, kad Lietuvoje beveik dvigubai padaugėjo nusikalstamų veikų, kurių padarymu įtariami imigrantai.
The concept of migration includes every movement of people - in one statė or crossing the frontiers; for a long or short period; voluntary or forced; looking for another vvorking place or unemployment; legal or illegal; as vvell as the migration with the purpose to change political, sočiai, economical, cultural or another environment. lt is classifled according to the reasons of movement, time, place, juridical status, etc. The aim of investigation is to analyse the juridical status of the foreigners (imigrants), who have come to Lithuania in 2002-2008 and to examine the relation between these persons and the law of the country. At the moment an increasing stream of immigrants is being observed. The analysis of the statistical data of 2002-2006 has shown that during the analyzed period the number of issued residence permits to live in Lithuania is statistically reliably increasing. What is more, the temporary residende permits in Lithuania are being issued at least 5 times more often than the permanent ones. The dominating persons among the immigrants are the citizens of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Betarus, and Germany.
