Modernization of public governance

In recent decades governance reforms have been carried out in the public sector aimed at ensuring the public sector efficiency perceived as the modernization of public governance based on theoretical premises of the new public governance and the new public management. Organizational assurance of the governance modernization process is quite problematic, as not only political will, administrative capacities and support, but also scientific reasoning of the process are necessary for the performance of modernization activities. Thus, governance modernization is much more than the transfer of governance methods from the private sector to the public sector; it is also an issue of a particular political direction or a specific theoretical method of modernizing the public governance most suitable for a specific situation.
