Abstract
The article presents a review of international and national legal sources related to the right to education and consists of three parts. The first part of the article reviews the international legal acts that embed the right to education and by doing so make it a universal right of an individual, and a binding obligation of the state to make such a right generally available and accessible. The second part presents the analysis of the legal regulation of the right to education in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The third part of the article provides introduction to the systems of general education of the Baltic States.
