The purpose of this investigation was to analyse selected temporal and kinematic measures to identify key features of the swimming start by different age-groups competitive swimmers. The aims of the study were: a) to compare the start, push-off, take-off and entry position of different age-group swimmers; b) to compare the flight distance, start distance and relative start distance; c) to compare the duration of start phases.
