Based on the statements of the acclaimed scholars on the topic of change (Armstrong, Drucker, Kotter, Robbins, Stoner, Handy, West, etc.) the author of the article acknowledges that due to the constantly enhancing competition organizations cannot ignore global processes. The article analyses scientific literature on the peculiarities of employee involvement in change processes in the organization in the context of contemporary challenges and examines the links of environmental elements with challenges for human resource management. On the basis of his research the author analyses obstacles to the participation of many Lithuanian organizations in the contemporary change process. Besides, the studies conducted by the author allow identify the factors which help managers of organizations encourage employee involvement in change. The article presents some suggestions on improvement of employee involvement in change in the organizational environment in Lithuania.
