This paper discusses the development of quality assurance across European Higher Education Area (EHEA). The significance of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) is emphasized as well as the implementation of Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG). ESG contain standards for internal and external quality assurance of higher education institutions and external evaluation of quality assurance agencies. Applied quality assurance procedures of higher education institutions are described in cases of Moldova and Lithuania.
