The article covers approaches to the definition of the essence and structure of social capital. The features of social capital as an economic resource are substantiated, its functions are characterized. The conditions of formation of social capital at different levels of functioning of economy are determined. The role of economic education in the processes of social capital accumulation is revealed. The possible directions of formation of elements of social capital in the training of management specialists are presented.
