Abstract (en)
The aim of this paper is to analyze one of the managerial instruments increasing the efficiency of the public sector – a “single window” in Lithuania. The principle of „single window“ is a structural component of NPM, named as market conditions formation in public sector because the main function of this principle consists of delivering services to a citizen in this way that administrative burden would be reduced. The article analyzes the conceptual assumptions of public services development, provides the analysis of legislation, which allowed for the institutionalization of a «single window» principle in practice, and discusses strengths and weaknesses of the new citizen’s service system.
