Subject of this thesis is relevant because the study of employee motivation is important and could help to find out what drives employees to work more efficiently and achieve good results. Such studies may indicate how to achieve the greatest motivation at the lowest cost, which is especially useful for companies in times of crisis. Also, the investigation of motivation in different economic times could help to determine which measures are most effective in pre-crisis, crisis and post-crisis period. There are problems related to the topic - should employers during economic crisis have to apply the same motivation measures despite crisis or need to find new motivation measures, which reflect the current situation? Also, motivation studies that compare the reasoning and application of motivational measures against the crisis, during the crisis and after crisis are new topic and should be further investigated. The aim is to analyze and compare the motivation and the evolution of small and medium-sized tourism enterprises pre-crisis, crisis and post crisis period.
